Ronald went to the plastic surgeons Monday, January 7th. They told him all was looking well except for a couple small places on his hands that they will have to do surgery on in a few weeks. We want to thank each and every one that has left a note of encouragement in the guest book, we have read each one and they have a been a blessing to us. Most importantly we say Thank You for your prayers, because we know they are what has brought us through. We have been blessed with your friendship and kindness, we pray you have a blessed New Year and remember to keep Christ the head of your life. We know He is the one that has brought us through this dark trial and with His grace we are conquerers. We have posted a family photo in the photo sections. May God bless you all.

We can't thank God enough for allowing Matthew to be at his Dad's side when the accident happen and pulling his Dad out of the fire. God is so Good!

Yesterday Bro Ron was fitted for his gloves and sleeves. They gave him temporaries for time being and told him he must wear the sleeves and gloves 24 hours a day for 6 months to a year. They are also watching a couple skin graphs on his hands and they may have do surgery again on these spots. He will go back on November 12 and again on the 26th to decide if they will do the surgery.
Bro Ron preached for the first time last Saturday night for about 35 minutes and it was a wonderful service. Please continue to keep him in your prayers as he continue's to gain back his strength. God Bless.
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2007 12:58 PM, CDT

Yesterday the nurse came to check on Ronald, she said his lungs were improving, she's only concerned about the graphs on his hands, they are a little red and need to be watched for infection. He will see the plastic surgeons Monday and will be fitted for the compressing gloves and sleeves. Over all his face, hands and leg is all improving greatly. He is gaining back his strength a little more everyday and we know its only by God's hand that he has came this far this quick.
Matthew will be consulting with the surgeons tomorrow at UVA Medical Center. When we find something out about when he will have surgery we will post it.
Please continue to remember Adam in prayer. He is improving, they moved him tonight from the ICU into a regular room. At this time the spinal taps and the MRI does not show what he has. His family thanks everybody for all your prayers.
MONDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2007 05:00 PM, CDT
Bro Ron is doing well this week. His lungs seem to be getting better and the nurse will be here tomorrow to check on him so we will update when we know more.
Today we have a special prayer request for Adam Frazier, Bro Alden Frazier's 12 year old son. Bro Alden is a deacon in the church here and is Sis. Connie's cousin. Last week Adam became very sick , was admitted into RMH hospital and diagnosed with miningistis. He came home yesterday but this morning his condition became worse and he was sent to UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville and he is now in the ICU. They are now not sure what is wrong with him but he had some swelling and infectin on his brain and is in serious condition. Please pray and believe with us that Adam will be completly healed of whatever this child has. We appreciate each one of you may God richly bless you!

Today Ron went to the doctor, they did an x-ray to check his lungs, they said that the lung capacity for an adult of his age should be 600 but Ron's is down to 200. They gave him a medicine that will hopefully clear this up and he also has a bad cough so they gave him medicine for that too. If he is no better by next week they are going to see him again at the doctor to do another capacity test. The doctor explained to Ronald that just like his skin has to heal , his lungs have to heal as well.
Matthew went to the doctor today to review his slides , they told him that his shoulder was dislocated and he has some torn ligaments so he will have to have surgery. He will go next thursday to see the sugeons at UVA in Charlottesville.
Please continue to keep both Ronald and Matthew in your prayers. We know that prayer has been what has brought us through thus far and we know that your prayers will keep us going. Thank you all so much for everything. God Bless.
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 09, 2007 09:57 PM, CDT
Bro. Ron would like to personally thank the Bride of Christ for all your prayers. He knows he would not be where he is today if it wasn't for you and your prayers. He is still on a long road to recovery, but the Lord has brought him this far and knows that he will bring him to his full recovery. He is still weak especially with his lungs, he just doesn't have energy to do much at this time. We know that Lord will completely restore his strength , its just going to take some time and patience. Again we love each and every one of you and thank you so much for all you have done , it means more than you know. Please continue to keep Ronald in your prayers and also Matthew as he goes back to the doctor on Thursday. May God Richly Bless You.
MONDAY, OCTOBER 08, 2007 08:34 PM, CDT
The doctor appointment went great today. He now has no bandages , his arms are still swollen a bit and in two weeks they will fit him for special sleeves and gloves to wear but for now he only has to wear long sleeves to protect his arms. The doctor told him not to use his arms much at all but everything is looking great , now he only needs to get his strength back. He's just glad to be able to take a shower on his own. Thank God for all he has done!
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 07, 2007 10:27 PM, CDT
It's been a good week for Bro. Ron. He went to church both Saturday and Sunday night. Recovery is going well, he's walking on his own now but he is still very weak and is still having some trouble with his lungs but he will go to the doctor in the morning. Bro. Ron wants to thank everyone for all the prayers, calls and cards.
Matthew had a MRI Wednesday on his shoulder and knee. He has an appointment with the orthopedic doctor on Thursday to review the slides. Please pray that no surgery is required.
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 02, 2007 09:06 PM, CDT
Today the Home Health Care sent Bro. Ron to have an ultrasound done on his leg to make sure there were no blood clots, and we thank God there was no sign of a blood clot. They also wanted to check his lungs again and the doctor said they were sounding better. Please remember Matthew tomorrow as he goes for his MRI, he still has alot of pain in his shoulder and his knee.
We want to thank every one for your prayers, calls, cards and even your visits but at this time the doctors and home health care have advised that Ronald have limited visitation as he needs all the rest he can get. Once we and the doctor feel that he is able to have visitors we will set some dates for anyone that would like to come visit him.
Bro. Ron's courage is coming back even through all is. He has quoted tonight "BOO DEVIL!"
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, 2007 09:54 PM, CDT
Today was a good day for Bro. Ron. His leg is still giving him quite a bit of pain and also his chest has been hurting , this may be due to the pheunmonia or maybe bronchitis. Home care will be coming again tomorrow. Please continue to remember Ronald in your prayers , God bless.
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2007 11:20 PM, CDT
Tonight Bro. Ron and Sis. Connie would like to express their thanks for everyone's prayers, concern , comments, cards , calls and every act of kindness everyone has expressed. They truly wish they could take everyone's calls but since Ron is completely in Connie's care it's just not possible for her to take every call that come's in.
Ronald is still doing well, his leg (where they took the grafts) is giving him the most pain but his arms are also giving him some pain.
Again Ronald and Connie would like to stress their thanks to you all for what you've done. Please continue to keep them in your prayers. May God richly bless you.
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2007 09:52 PM, CDT
Bro. Ron is home now. He is doing well but it is still a long road to his complete rocovery. Home care will be coming in tomorrow , Sis. Connie did his wound care today and said that just cleaning and dressing the wounds was a job. We certainly thank God that Bro. Ron is at home now. Thanks again for all your prayers, support, comments and cards. God Bless.
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2007 07:15 PM, CDT
Yesterday Bro. Matthew went to the doctor to have his shoulder and knee checked out. The doctor moved his shoulder a few different ways and it didnt sound so good so he will be going to have an MRI on his shoulder and knee on October 2. Please pray that all will go well and they will be able to find exactly what the problem is and how to fix it. God bless!
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2007 11:42 AM, CDT
More great news today. Bro. Ron is doing so well that he will be coming home tommorow with home health care! No other words can come to mind than Praise the Lord! We have all prayed for a quick recovery and thats exactly what the Lord is doing for Ronald. God BlessYou all for your prayers!
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 2007 09:57 PM, CDT
Bro. Ron is doing very well today. His grafts are looking wonderful, but he says he has alot of pain where they did the grafting. He has been able to leave his room in his wheel chair, and he is on a soft diet. He is up and talking to us just like the Ronald we know. There is no definite day set for when he will be able to come home but the nurses say very soon. Ronald is so very thankful for all of your prayers and so are we, God has definetly worked a miracle for him.
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2007 04:38 PM, CDT
Today Ronald is back to his self. Yesterday he was a little confused about some things but today he is doing great. They checked his grafts out today and said everything is looking great. They have moved him to a different room , still in the ICU but to a different room so this means he is doing much better. Thank you for all your prayers. God Bless.
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2007 10:01 PM, CDT
Today, again, was truly a blessing and an answer to many prayers. When we arrived at the hospital Bro. Ron was awake and talking! They have taken him off of all the pain medication and are not going to give any to him until he ask for it. Although he is still confused a bit he pretty well knows who everyone is and is doing very well. Today was just a one of those days where we sat back and said to ourselves , God is an awesome God and he truly is in control of all things.
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2007 07:23 AM, CDT
This morning they gave Ronald a medicine to try to reverse his not being alert but the drug didn't work so they're going to do some testing on him today including a CAT scan. Please pray for Ronald and all of us throughout the day that all of these test will have good results. God Bless.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2007 10:43 PM, CDT
Today Bro. Ron wasn't as alert as he was yesterday, they said this is most likely his adjusting to having the breathing tube taken out today. They do have him on an oxygen mask. Please pray for Sis. Connie and the family as these ups and downs are hard on all of us. Thank you. May God richy Bless you all.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2007 09:15 AM, CDT
This morning they took Bro. Ron's ventilator off! He's doing good but not talking a whole lot yet because his voice isnt all there. This is such good news , it's another big step in his recovery and we are so thankful to the Lord for what he has done for Ronald and for what he is going to do for him.
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2007 01:35 PM, CDT
Last night Bro. Ron had a very restless night again so they had to up his sedation, but at about 2:30 he started to come around. He is still on the ventilator but they have put a T line in so he is breathing on his own and at 3:00 they will do a oxygen test and if the test looks good they will take him off of the ventilator. Praise the Lord. We will update later tonight. God Bless.
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2007 09:53 PM, CDT
Bro. Ron went into surgery this morning around 8:30, everything went very well, they did skin grafts on both arms and spots on both hands and some fingers. The surgeon said he will probably wear the bandages about a week and they will keep a close eye on his hands and arms to make sure the grafts took well. He came around this evening around 8:30 pm and again was responding to us with his eyes and nodding his head. They will try to take the breathing tube out in the next couple days. He is doing well, and we are so glad this part of his recovery is over with, we are praying and believing that the grafts will take and do well so that they will not have to take him into surgery again for more work on his arms and hands. We serve a great God! He has been with us every step of the way. Thanks again for all your prayers, they're greatly appreciated more than you know. May God richly bless you!
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2007 07:04 AM, CDT
Bro. Ron had a pretty restless night. We are still not sure what time the surgery will be , they said they may be able to tell us know something around 8:30. The last we heard it may be around 11:00 but this is not a definite time. We will update as soon as we are able to. God bless.
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2007 09:20 PM, CDT
Thank the Lord for his mighty works. Today was a great day. Bro. Ron is awake and alert and still looking better everyday. We were able to talk to him and he responded with nodding his head and even a few winks! He is still is on the ventilator so he could not talk but he seemed to be trying to move his lips to talk to us. This was such a joy just to be able to almost fully communicate with him for the first time since the accident. They did find out he has a communicable infection called VRE, but it doesn't seem to be serious or anything that will set him back. He is sheduled to have the skin grafts tommorow, we are not sure what time at the moment but we will certainly try to update when we know.
We also want to give an update on Bro. Matthew today. He is doing very well , his wounds are looking good and the only pain he has is from where he fell on his shoulder and his knee.
We cannot thank you enough for all your prayers and cannot begin to express how thankful we are to our Lord Jesus for all he has done for Brother Ron and Bro. Matthew.
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2007 10:04 PM, CDT
Today was a tiring day. They found out that he does have pneumonia and a pretty bad case of it. His chest cavity and sinuses are completely full of secretions. They did sit him up and he opened his eyes and responded very well today but has had three very bad choking spells today that gave us quite a scare. He is still on the ventilator and they are planning to do the skin grafts on friday. They're still waiting for the swelling to go down before they can take the ventilator off. Connie especially needs your sincere prayers , this whole experience is very trying. Please pray that they will be able to get rid of this infection and get him off the breathing tube , this would just be such a huge step and a huge blessing. We thank God for what he has already done , Ronald is looking much better each day. Thank you all so much, God bless!
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2007 08:25 AM, CDT
For the first time , this morning at 4:00 am, Ron responded to the nurses commands, he opened his eyes and raised his hands to his face and he kicked his legs around. This is exactly what they've been waiting for. They also suctioned his lungs out and got more secretions out. Not as much this time but this is possibly a good thing. We praise God for this encouraging news, all the glory is due to Him. This is a big step in his recovery.
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2007 09:18 PM, CDT
Today was a fairly good day. He is still on the ventilator, they have found some secretions and puss in his lungs and until they find out exactly what this is and are able to treat it , they cannot take the ventilator off. His throat is also still very swollen. They will continue to use a scope to clear out his lungs of the secretion and puss each day until they see its not needed any more. They did try to wake him up more and put him in the special chair today but he didn't quite cooperate the way they needed him too so he is still sedated. When the nurses took a look at his hands and arms today they said they were looking great and there is still a possibility that he may not have to have skin grafts. Thank you all again for your prayers, we are truely thankful for all our friends, family and brothers and sisters in Christ. May God Bless you all for what you have done.
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2007 07:35 AM, CDT
Bro. Ron is still doing good this morning. The nurses told us they rolled him over a couple times during the night and he opened his eyes. This is all we know for now so just keep praying. Thank you!
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2007 09:20 PM, CDT
We received some more good, encouraging news this afternoon. The nurses came in to dress his wounds today and told us that there seems to be new skin growing and a possibility that he may not have to have skin grafting done. They will let the plastic surgeons decide this but just hearing this from the nurses was an encouragment. The nurses also said they could take the ventilator off but the swelling in his mouth and throat needs to go down before they do this or it could be harmful. Thanks again for your prayer, we know this is only the result of our great God answering prayers.
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2007 08:50 AM, CDT
We received good news this morning. First of all his fever has went back down. They decreased the ventilator a little more this morning and the nurses said he has been fluttering his eyes which means he's beginning to wake up a little more.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2007 09:37 PM, CDT
This evening Bro. Ron is running a temperature of 102. They are now trying wake him up by decreasing his pain medication so that they may eventually take him off of the ventilator in the next few days. The doctors cannot tell us when he will be awake they say its pretty much just up to him. Early this morning the report wasn't sounding too good but by this afternoon the Lord had completely turned things around and everything seems to be going on the right track. We are completely believing and claiming a full healing for Bro. Ron. Again thank you all so much for your prayers!
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 2007 10:37 PM, CDT
9/15- Bro. Ron is doing alot better today. He is still at 50% on the ventilator but they are trying reduce it today, the only problem is that he isn't quite cooperating. They are still keeping a close eye on his lungs, but today are going to try to sit him in a special chair that may help him breath on his own . His swelling has also gone down alot.

This evening Bro.Ron is running a temperature of 104. This is most likely a sign that his body is fighting off infection. They have put a cooling blanket on him to help bring the fever down. They weren't able to get him up in the chair today, they said he's not quite ready to do this yet. Thank you all for all your prayers and all you've done for us.

Matthew is now at home! He is doing well but still in some pain.

We thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers. We are believing and expecting a full and quick recovery! May God bless you all!

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 14, 2007
- Today was a day of ups and downs. Earlier today the doctors told Connie that Bro. Ron had some aspiration due to regurgitation. This was a bit of a scare. They had then increased the ventilator to a full 75%, but after many prayers and only an hours time the ventilator had dropped to 50%! The doctors said that when it drops down to 40% they will able to drop the ventilator completely! Praise the Lord! There is great power in prayer! Bro. Ron is now doing much better than he had been at the beginning of the day. The doctors said today that his recovery will fluctuate from day to day. One day we may see improvment and the next we may see challenges but through it all we are holding to God's unchanging hand. Sis Connie and the family are so thankful to you all for your prayers and support. May God richly bless each one of you!
THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 13, 2007
-Ronald is now completely sedated and on a central line that will moniter him, feed him, and give him the fluids he needs . They are wanting to start taking him off of some of the pain medication but will continue to keep him sedated. They are hoping to take him off of the breathing machine sometime in the next few days. The swelling is slowly starting to go down some. They will be doing skin grafting on both his arms and hands in the next week or so. Bro. Ron can hear us talking to him, although he cannot talk to us right now he does give us small movements which lets us know he can hear us.

Today the doctors told Connie he has been a perfect patient and that his kidneys are functioning better today, Praise to the Lord.

On September 10, 2007, Ronald Spencer and Matthew Spencer were involved in a serious accident at their home. They were outside trying to ignite a small propane tank when the tank exploded into a complete 20 yd circle of fire. They were both knocked to the ground and both burnt badly but if it had not been for matthew being there to pick his dad up off the ground it could've been alot worse.
They were then rushed to an EMS base and then taken to the the hospital. Matthew had severe burns to his hands and arms , Ronald had severe burns to his hands, arms and face. From there Ronald was sent to UVA hospital in Charlottesville VA and put in the ICU burn unit. Matthew remained at the local RMH hospital to be cared for.
